We have just been advised that the Land Manager has received a Heritage Grant for works to repair and modify building 7 (Old Fisheries School). This means that the Land Manager can now update the facilities in the building and undertake necessary works to both external and internal parts of the building.

The Board of the Land Manager has resolved to hold back this work until a decision is made about future use of the building arising from the EOI process. This means that if a proposal is accepted for use of building 7, the successful proponent will have some input into planning works on the building. Please note that any works will be subject to lodging and obtaining approval through a Development Application made by the Land Manager.

Funding from the grant alone will not be sufficient to carry out all necessary works. The Land Manager and Sutherland Shire Council have indicated that they will provide some extra funding and in-kind support for essential works. If a successful proponent wants to make bespoke alterations to the building, they may be asked to make a contribution to any extra costs incurred by this work.

If you interested in making a proposal that includes use of building 7, you should address this issue in your submission.

A reminder that the period for questions and inspections under the EOI ends on Wednesday 12 June. However, given the lateness of this news on building 7, the Land Manager will extend the deadline for building 7 matters only, until 4pm 19 June 2019.

The due date for lodgement of all proposals is still 4pm on 12 July 2019.
